ENEC Operations is generating safe, reliable and clean electricity 24/7, using nuclear energy which supports the UAE’s growth, development and quality of life for generations to come.

Established in 2016 as a Joint Venture subsidiary of the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) and the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO), ENEC Operations is in charge of operating and maintaining Units 1 to 4 at the Barakah Nuclear Energy Plant, located in the Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi.

ENEC Operations harnesses the power of nuclear energy in providing a safe, reliable, clean and sustainable supply of low-carbon electricity to enhance the UAE’s social, economic development and the quality of life for generations to come.

With safety as its overriding priority, and in adherence to the local regulatory requirements and the highest international standards in the nuclear industry, ENEC Operations generates 40 TWh of clean electricity annually. The Barakah Plant can produce up to 5,600 megawatts of electricity from the four units at Barakah, supplying approximately 25% of the UAE’s electricity needs.

Dedicated to protecting the environment and supporting the UAE Government’s plans to boost clean energy across the Emirates, ENEC Operations will be reducing the UAE’s carbon dioxide emissions by 22.4 million tons annually.

ENEc Operations is a Private Joint Stock Company (PJSC), established after the signing of a Joint Venture Agreement between its Shareholders, the Emirates Nuclear Energy Company (ENEC) (82%) and the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) (18%).
