ENEC sponsors training nights to promote safe exercise and healthier lifestyle for Abu Dhabi community and ENEC employees
ABU DHABI – The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) has become the main sponsor of “Train Yas”, the weekly Tuesday community training event held at Yas Marina Circuit. ENEC’s sponsorship helps to ensure the sustainability of the event, which promotes safe and healthy exercise for Abu Dhabi residents in an adequately, electricity-lit environment.
Launched 18 months ago, Train Yas gives members of the community an opportunity to safely run, walk or cycle, free of cars and other road hazards, on one of the world’s most iconic race tracks. The event currently attracts over 500 people each week to the circuit, and has a membership base of more than 6,000 people, making it one of Abu Dhabi’s most popular health and recreation activities.
ENEC will also provide special privileges for ENEC employees, and their spouses, children and friends, to participate in Train Yas.
“At ENEC, we firmly believe in a healthy work-life balance, and we encourage more citizens to take advantage of this safe and fun night out to make our community a healthier place,” said Fahad Al Qahtani, Director of External Affairs & Communications. “We are proud to sponsor the Train Yas nights, not only because they promote health and well-being, but also because these nights emphasize the importance of exercising with safety in mind. At ENEC, safety is our number one priority, and a key driver of everything we do.”
“We are excited that ENEC has come on board as the primary sponsor for Train Yas,” commented Malek Rawas Al Rashedi, Senior Director of Yas Marina Circuit. “We are proud of the event, one of many that are designed to ensure that the local community benefit from these great facilities. No matter what your age, we encourage more community members to take advantage of this world-class venue.”
ENEC specializes in the deployment, ownership and operation of civil nuclear energy plants within the UAE, with a mission to deliver electricity to the UAE grid in 2017. Given the rising energy demands, this future electricity supply will be critical to facilities such as the Yas Marina Circuit and the wider United Arab Emirates’ energy needs.
Train Yas is held every Tuesday at Yas Marina Circuit, from 6-9p.m. For more information about Train Yas visit https://www.yasmarinacircuit.ae; initial pre-registration is required.
