ENEC Seeks Emirati Talent At Tawdheef

As part of its Energy Pioneers program, ENEC is seeking the UAE’s bright sparks for Abu Dhabi Polytechnic’s Higher Diploma of Nuclear Technology

Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC) is offering a range of scholarships and career opportunities to Emiratis at Tawdheef 2013, which is running this week at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

As well as opportunities for experienced engineers, ENEC is on the look out for the UAE’s best young science students for its technical program, the Higher Diploma of Nuclear Technology (HDNT). Applications are now open for the next intake of students for HDNT, run by Abu Dhabi Polytechnic with classes commencing on the 3rd of March 2013.

The program prepares students for a specialist and hands-on career in the nuclear energy industry, where they will be instrumental in delivering the UAE’s nuclear energy vision.

The program is a balanced one, offering practical knowledge provided by a nuclear industry training provider, as well as classroom theory.

In the second year of the HDNT course, students are taken to South Korea to get a real taste of the job with an internship at the country’s operating world-class nuclear energy plants.

In the third year, students specialize in their preferred job stream, choosing from Nuclear Reactor Operator, Instrumentation & Control Technologist, Mechanical Technologist, Chemistry Technologist, Electrical Technologist or Radiation Protection Technologist.

At the end of their study, scholarship students will join the ENEC team and work towards delivering safe, clean efficient and reliable nuclear energy to the UAE.

To qualify for the HDNT program, students must hold a UAE Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in Science, with a minimum overall achievement of 70% and provide proof of English language proficiency.

Opportunities are also available for students interested in Bachelors and Masters degrees or experienced engineering professionals keen to play a part in the industry of the future. Chemical, nuclear, mechanical and electrical engineering Bachelor Degrees are open for application with the opportunity to study at top universities in the UAE and USA, as well as a Masters Degree program taught locally at Khalifa University.
