ENEC Forums
Since our inception, we have worked to raise awareness of the UAE's Peaceful Nuclear Energy Program, build trust with our communities and stakeholders, and correct misconceptions about nuclear energy. At the heart of this education effort is a series of community meetings, titled ENEC Forums.
ENEC Forums are open to all residents of the UAE and provide an interactive and open forum where the public can learn about nuclear energy, the UAE's program and receive key program updates. The meetings also include open Q&A sessions where attendees can raise questions directly with Emirati experts and receive direct responses in Arabic (with simultaneous translation to English). Topics include radiation, uranium in the UAE, efficiency of nuclear energy, the Fukushima accident and career opportunities.
The forums encourage exploration of nuclear energy ideas through on-site demonstrations and "touch and feel" displays including model nuclear energy plants, fuel assemblies, uranium rocks, Geiger counters and nuclear fuel pellets.
Our forums also offer an opportunity for attendees to learn about the scholarships and career opportunities available through ENEC’s Energy Pioneers program.
Since 2010, we have held more than 24 forums in the Western Region, Abu Dhabi and across the UAE, attracting more than 7,000 attendees.
