Summer Program

The Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation (ENEC), in partnership with Korea Plant Service & Engineering (KPS) and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power (KHNP), has developed the ENEC Summer Training Program taking place in South Korea for grade 11 Institute of Applied Technology (IAT) and Secondary Technical School (STS) students.
The two-week program aims to introduce students to the exciting opportunities available in the nuclear energy sector, and encourage them to join ENEC’s various graduate education programs when they complete their secondary school studies.
The program consists of both practical and theoretical training, and introduces students to nuclear power plant operations and maintenance, increasing their general knowledge of the nuclear industry. Students are also given the opportunity to learn about Korean culture and traditions by visiting South Korea’s famous landmarks during the program’s leisure time.
The ENEC Summer Training Program is a unique initiative that can help students to realize their dreams, and set them on a path to becoming a future UAE energy pioneers, directly contributing to the success of the UAE’s emerging nuclear energy industry.

Glossary:
Nuclear energy

The energy that is released during a nuclear reaction. Splitting atoms (fission) and fusing atoms (fusion) both release nuclear energy. Today's nuclear power plants use fission to produce energy, which allow them to generate electricity on a large scale.
